Laura Zaim

Laura is Sr. Director on the Ventures team at Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC). Founded in 1851, Louis Dreyfus Company is a leading merchant and processor of agricultural goods across the food, feed and fiber value chains. Our activities across a diversified range of crops including grains and oilseeds, cotton, coffee, juice, plant proteins and more span the entire value chain, from origination to distribution including maritime freight, and help to feed and clothe up to 500 million people every year. In her role, Laura is responsible for sourcing, underwriting and managing strategic investments in early stage companies whose solution or technology can help make LDC’s operations, more profitable, sustainable or efficient. Major investment themes include digitalization and traceability of agricultural supply chains, promoting regenerative agriculture practices, and supporting the energy transition and decarbonization across all business lines.

Prior to joining LDC, Laura was on the investment team at Unovis Asset Management, an early stage VC fund focused on plant-based and alternative proteins. She was also co-founder of WorkAmerica, a venture-backed workforce development startup and she was a Kirchner Fellow in 2019. Laura has an MBA from Wharton and speaks English, French and Spanish. Outside of work, she loves to dance. She currently calls Miami home.
