Mildred is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Nanotechnology at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. Throughout her studies, she has led and participated in several initiatives to promote youth involvement in the development of the Latin American bioeconomy through science communication, evidence-based policymaking, and entrepreneurship. She was also a research trainee at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology at Harvard Medical School and has participated twice at the UN Convention on Biological Diversity as a youth delegate.
Mildred is also Co-Founder and Director of Strategic Partnerships at The Bridge Biofoundry, an organization that aims to promote the growth of the innovation and bioentrepreneurial ecosystems in Central America through specialized infrastructure and innovation services. Mildred is currently an intern at the Bioeconomy and Productive Development Office of IICA, where she is working on the planning and implementation of a regional-wide project to enhance the bioentrepreneurship ecosystem in Latin America and the Caribbean.
